When the wolf came to the first house, he just exhaled and exerted himself and it blew the house apart. The first chick fled to his sister's house.
The beast came to the second house and huffed and puffed and it blew the house into pieces. The two chicks scampered to their sister's house.
But when the wolf came to the third house, he breathed heavily and puffed but it wouldn't move. The babies were sound inside.
Finally, the beast was too exhausted to try any longer. He went away hungry.
The three chicks learned that it is important to be prepared and to build a secure house. They lived happily for many years in their brick house.
